Colloidal silica is a stable dispersion of amorphous silica nanoparticles in a liquid medium, forming a translucent, low-viscosity sol. Pharmaceutical-grade colloidal silica has extremely high purity, with particle sizes typically ranging from 5 to 100 nm, and exhibits excellent stability. Composed of discrete spherical particles suspended in a continuous phase, colloidal silica is particularly suitable for applications requiring precise surface modification, bonding, and film-forming properties without altering powder flowability.

When fumed silica is used as filler or additives, it helps in thickening, reinforcement, transparency, free-flow, thixotropic performance, dielectric properties, anti-settling, heat insulation, and anti-sagging.
